Hope you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on the house painting, Kim.

And...of course...that it isn't the headlights of an oncoming train.

See...how thought-sharing I am

...NOT the stingy sister :nope:

No light at the end of the tunnel yet. :nope:

This whole house is a train wreck.

I am still second coating the color in the kitchen - it had to have at least 2 coats of primer on the walls first, and 4 coats on all the bright yellow trim to keep it from bleeding through the color coats. I always use Kilz as my primer because it does a dandy job of preventing bleed through.

When I finish this second coat of color then I have to prime, and paint all the cabinet doors, and drawers. And there is plenty of the yellow on them.

Then we have to cut all new baseboards, and paint and install them.

Then tile the wall behind where the range sits.

And this is just in the kitchen.

The back entry, and laundry room are primed, and ready for the color coats. That will be the next room I go into.

My son has been there on the weekends (he is at work during the week) washing, and sanding walls in the various rooms ahead of my brother, and I which is a big help. When he finishes that I will be putting a paint brush in his hand.

The bathroom is another horror story. It has a pocket door (small house with no room for a regular swinging door) that someone - most likely one of the tenants *fancy themselves a handyman* boyfriends got ahold of.

It just would not work properly - when closed it would tip on the track. So...my brother pulled the sink off the wall, removed all the new trim the guy had put around the doorjamb to be able take the door off the track.

When we looked inside with a flashlight we could see the problem. The guy had pried the track off the header, and could not reach far enough inside to get new screws to hold up the far end of the track. So... it was hanging loose.

That meant the sheetrock on the bathroom side of the pocket had to be cut, and removed to expose the inside of the door. Now my brother is in the process of repairing the pocket.

Then I have to buy an new door to hang, and sheetrock which my brother will be installing.

After that the room will need a few coats of Kilz before the color because it is now painted a really odd shade of green.

Then the sink will go back in.

Beyond that there is the alcove where the pellet stove sits, the living room, hallway, and two bedrooms to paint.

So.......Nope - I don't see that train a commin' just yet. :nope:
