Forums: Post Your Layout With A Separate Link To The Gallery

Sun Aug 24, 2014 3:08 pm

Part One

Click on your layout in the gallery to make it big. Then right click on your layout and choose "copy"
Go to the place you want to post your LO and click on the Img box located right above where your message will go.
You'll see a blinking cursor between two code pieces like this

Code: Select all

[img][/img]

Type CTL V on your keyboard between the two code pieces to paste it.

The result should look like this:

Code: Select all

[img]http://gallery.scrapbird.com/albums/userpics/10027/Never-Too-Old.jpg[/img]

OR
If you don't want to use the Img box, just paste your page in the message area
Then type the img parts with the appropriate brackets at the beginning and end.
(Notice that the ending contains a "/")

You can preview what your message will look like at this point by clicking on the "Preview" box below.
You should see a large thumbnail of your layout.

Part Two

To add a link to the gallery, you'll need to:
Go back to the gallery where your BIG layout is and click on the middle box that is located in the upper left of the screen of your layout.
(When you hover the cursor over it, it will say "Display/hide file information")
Look at the information that appears at the bottom of the sceen and copy the code that begins with http://...
Go back to the message area in the forum and paste it under the first code.
It should look similar to this:
http://gallery.scrapbird.com/displayima ... play_media

You can stop now if you want.

Or you can add a "[url=" to the beginning of the code and a "]"at the end of the code followed by the name of your layout.
(Do not add a space before or after typing the name of your layout)
Then add a "[/url]" after the name of your layout.

When you are finished, it will look similar to this:

Code: Select all

[url=http://gallery.scrapbird.com/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pid=499#top_display_media]Never Too Old[/url]

Resulting in what some people call a Pretty Link that has a line under the Name of your layout and no code showing. For example, the above code will look like this after you Submit your message:
Never Too Old

Thanks Tbear...

Okay I need to ask another question. About keywords. Number 4 on down. I think I am doing it the way the instructions say but it hasn't appeared in the other challenges, so I must not be doing it correctly. :(

ADDING LAYOUTS TO MULTIPLE CATEGORIES

If you have created a layout and want to add, for example, to the challenges gallery (or galleries designer):

1. Click "upload file"
2. From the drop-down menu, select the name of your album you want to add the file, wait a moment until the layout is loaded and click "continue"
3. Add a title and description. Remember that crediting the designer is encouraged, but other store names and off-site links are not allowed.

4. Now the most important! If you skip this step your layout will not be added to the gallery challenge!
- In the "Keywords", click "add list"
- In the window that you open, with a single click, select an additional category (keyword) for your layout.
Every single click adds one additional category (keyword)
- Close window with a cross
- Additional categories (keywords) appeared automatically in the window.
5. Click "Confirm Changes" and you're done! :D
Your layout is in your personal album and the album challenges to which it copied using keywords.

Tbear,
I have checked and rechecked this. I do not get the choice of 'copy' anywhere in the gallery. I get 'copy image location' and 'copy image' but 'copy image' doesn't copy the code. Both you and Marzena have the direction to right click on the image and 'copy.' Am I just reading this stuff wrong or is my browser (Firefox) just different? See:

That's right.
Using keywords add automatically layout to the gallery challenges (or designer).
Gallery and forum are not related - so, using of keywords does not add layout to the forum - only and exclusively to the gallery.

Olivia - my Firefox copies the address of the image to his memory.
Then I click BBCode Forum [img] and the right mouse button i choose option "paste" (or just with the keyboard CTRL + V)

Or maybe you're asking about something else and I did not understand :lol2:

No, you do understand! That's what I was talking about :) I can copy the location of the image just like you did and Ctrl V it into the BBCode. Just having trouble getting anything to post correctly yesterday evening but now everything looks fine! Thanks!!!
