How To Participate in a Progressive Scrap Challenge

How Do You Participate in a Progressive Scrap?

Accepting the challenge of a progressive scrap is not only fun and provides you with free product, it also stretches your creative brain cells! You can do a progressive scrap quick and easy or slower and more involved, it is your choice as long as the layout is posted within the time period!

The designer hosting the Progressive Scrap will provide you with all the product you need to complete a layout but the fun is in the way the host provides the product to you! You receive the product over a stated number of days and you must follow the instructions for use (i.e., use at least 1 of these 4 elements) and place the product in your document. Once you are satisfied with that day's placement you then upload a flattened, reduced size duplicate of it to your gallery and use the Keyword Progressive Scrap Challenge Gallery and a link to it in that day's forum thread, keeping your working document in layers and full size (3600 x 3600) so you can continue on with the succeeding day's products.

As you progress with your layout you must not change anything you have already placed other than the addition or change of shadows! Try unusual placement and remember you don't have any idea of what is coming next from the designer, in fact, sometimes the papers come last! At the end of the Progressive Scrap, you will post your completed layout in the host's designated gallery which qualifies you for a Loyalty Stamp and love from the rest of us!

When making a progressive scrap layout it is the perfect time to try your hand at a quickpage. If your hosting designer is open to it, she will also host your completed, full size, PNG layout for the rest of the participants to download. You can get some really nice coordinating album pages in this manner! If you are interested in doing this, be sure and ask your hosting designer if she will participate.

Have fun!
