Why scissors? No idea.
Did you know that scissors were invented around 1500BC? Or that Fiskars is the name of a village? Check out their long history on wikipedia.

Scissors are everywhere, we use them for numerous tasks every day, they might be standard scissors or specialised for specific tasks such as hairdressing. Or, maybe they were your finger scissors in the game 'rock, paper, scissors'! Scissors have been he subject of song and movies.

Everyone has a story that involves scissors of some sort, I want to hear that story.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Tell me a story connected, no matter how loosely, to scissors.

This challenge brought back this *painful* memory from my childhood.

Running From Scissors
Image
I used Vintage Garden Chic, and scissors from Sewing Old both by Kittyscrap. I also used Journal With Flair Template by Meryl Bartho.

Journaling: When I was a girl I would cringe every time my mother would have a pair of scissors in her hand, and tell me to sit in the chair. That meant she was going to cut my bangs. Without fail she would cut them crooked, and then promptly proceed to attempt to straighten them out. My bangs would get shorter and shorter and shorter, and more often than not, still crooked. We teased her about not being able to see straight, but in reality I do believe it had more to do with the fact that she was using a big clunky right handed pair of scissors with her left hand. Yes, she was a south-paw in a right handed world, which meant I was doomed to sport short, crooked bangs.

You know, I used to have the same problem. Only my Mum was right-handed so no excuses. I don't know if I have any photos of really short though - we call it a fringe not bangs.
